Massage Therapy

We provide massage therapy to patients of all age groups and backgrounds. We take the time to get to know you, your history, issues and goals to help you make lasting change.

Massage Therapy uses soft tissue manipulation to promote relief from aches and pains. It's used to optimize performance and function of muscles and increase mobility. Massage Therapy calms the nervous and endocrine systems due to its calming effect on the autonomic nervous system, helping your body and brain feel relaxed during and after the treatment. Poor posture, injury rehab, chronic or acute pain, fluid retention, muscle spasms, limited range of motion, scar tissue or stress are all great reasons to have a massage.

what we Provide

Our team of Massage Therapists are registered and licensed professionals with provincial and national associations (NHPC, CMTAA, MTAA), and the City of Edmonton. They offer direct billing provided the coverage is available in a patient’s unique insurance plan.

Professionally trained in a range of techniques and disciplines, our highly skilled team works on the entire body as a system. We take the time to assess your sysmptoms and connect movement patterns to your musculoskeletal probelems. Understanding this helps us not only resolve to issue, but stop it from coming back.

Types of Massage Therapy:

  • Deep Tissue - deep pressure massage used for a range of conditions and injuries.

  • Sports Massage - for pre & post training / exercise. Treatments help prevent injury and optimize performance.

  • Myofascial Release - light to deep pressure with focus on stretching and moving fascia, which is connective tissue.

  • Trigger Point Therapy - direct pressure applied to specific sites of tension and muscle knots to release patterns of pain.

  • Neuromuscular Therapy - alternating levels of pressure on areas with muscle spasms, weakness or complete loss of movement.

  • Rehabilitation Therapy - post injury therapy with varied levels of pressure and joint mobilization techniques to monilise and restore healthy muscle function.

  • Intra-Oral / TMJD Massage - treatment for jaw pain that applies light pressure on trigger points around the jaw, inside and out, plus the head, neck and face.

  • Pre / Post Natal - pre and post pregnancy massage with light to medium pressure treating muscle knots, fluid retention (swelling), numbing, tingling, sore limbs and joints.

  • Lymphatic Drainage - light touch therapy with stroking techniques to move lymph fluid and swelling to lymph nodes or hands, ankles, feet, face. Treats eodema.

  • Relaxation - light to medium pressure to restore the sense of calm in your mind and body. The nervous system relaxes and turns on your body's natural restorative mechanisms.

Myofascial Vacuum Cupping

Myofascial Vacuum Cups are plastic, silicone or glass and are placed on to the skin. The practitioner suctions (negative pressure) the cup on to the skin to pull tissue up in to the up. This technique helps to reduce soft tissue tensions and restrictions. The 'pull' of the cups is effective against tight connective tissue, fascia. This helps to reduce scar tissue, increase general mobility, stimulate circulation, plumpen skin, reduce pain, and diminish the appearance of cellulite and fine lines. Myofascial Cupping is an excellent strategy for pre / post surgery, like C-sections & Carpal Tunnel surgery, and for chronic injury sites to reduce scar tissue.

This technique can feel gentle or like a strong localized pull/stretch, depending on the sensitivity of the area. Our therapists always work within your pain tolerance.

hot stone massage

Hot stones are heated to a temperature that is safe for contact with your skin. This application of heated stones is very relaxing, but it can also be used in a therapeutic manner. Stones are placed on key points of tension and also used as an extension of the Massage Therapist's hands. Pressure suited to your tolerance and needs is applied to relieve muscle and joint pain.

Hot stones are an effective strategy for relieving the discomfort of arthritis, muscle pain, injury, surgery, poor circulation, insomnia, anxiety, and depression.
